Criminal defense and post-judgment immigration review
We represent clients in investigations and trials involving offenses such as driving under the influence and assault, and in the resulting immigration enforcement review. We examine the circumstances of the offense, the outcome, repeat offending and subsequent steps, alongside the client's responsibilities for family members, employment and life in Korea.
The evidence supporting continued residence must address the facts under review. We identify the relevant documents, prepare written explanations and legal submissions, and assist with appearances and requests for further information.

Entry-ban checks, lifting applications and re-entry
Where a client does not have the original removal notice or does not know the reason or duration of an entry ban, we obtain the relevant records to establish the current restriction. We consider the circumstances at the time, subsequent changes and the elapsed restriction period to assess ordinary or special lifting of the ban.
Where special lifting is required, we develop the public-interest or humanitarian grounds through evidence specific to the case. We assess family ties in Korea, care of minor children and business needs, and advise on the visa and admission issues that must be addressed separately for the client's return.

Residence and work-related immigration violations
We advise on overstaying, work or activities outside the scope of permission, and failures to comply with reporting duties. We compare the period and activities in question with the client's permission and reporting history and employment records to establish the facts.
When considering voluntary reporting or a response to an investigation, we assess not only immigration penalties but also the current status, extension or change applications, and possible entry restrictions after departure. We review applications, statements and supporting explanations for consistency across the relevant procedures.

Removal measures and immigration detention
Where a departure order, deportation or detention is at issue, we establish the notification and enforcement position and identify evidence that needs immediate attention, including family, accommodation and health records. For detained clients, we develop the grounds for temporary release and the proposed arrangements for residence and attendance afterward.
We advise on representations before a removal decision, the response of detained clients and their families, and measures required before and after departure. Where cancellation of a decision or suspension of its enforcement is needed, the matter is coordinated with our administrative disputes practice.
